Sam Cowart was just released by the Titans, should we look to take him back for insurance policy now that chad is down and out?

yes and no, yes, because he w*ould give great veteran leadership and depth at LB, but no because he is really not suited for a cover2 defense.

I don't think that's a bad idea.
He should come pretty cheap and he adds that experience we need at LB.
I would like our starting 3 to be Cowart, EJ, and Leber.
I think that would solidify the LB corps

Cowart is not suited for the cover2.
We are set at starting LBs with Napo, EJ, and Leber.
But then again, depth is always important...

HoustonTexans.com reports the Houston Texans have released LB Sam Cowart.

No he was let go because he lacked the speed to play in the Tampa 2 and he got beat out in the middle by 2nd round rookie Demeco Ryans if he's not good enough to be their backup he isn't going to fill that role for us.

Same here.

I would say no because we have enough of the "senior" leadership on the defense.
Also he doesn't fit in with the defense we are trying to establish.
