Conference call ends with no vote

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/21/nflpa-conference-call-ends-with-no-vote/

The vote comes as no surprise, given the largely negative reaction to the NFLís apparent power play to approve an incomplete deal and force the players to agree.
Great- Why the hell would they try some crap like that at this point in the negotiation. This could jeopardize the whole season if things go south.

I wonder if the Cowboys, Jets/Giants and Colts have the bling in the bank to pay the note on their debt if they don't have the game revenue this season?

At this point, Everyone is an idiot.

You can't say who's at fault, because really, these reports are probably not even close to accurate. The NFLPA claims that the owners tried to slip things into the CBA when they agreed on it, and Demaurice Smith claims he never knew about any new revenue sharing model. I find that all very hard to believe.

It gets to a point where I feel like the players aren't smart enough to do what is in their best interest. I mean, if they were, there would be no need for agents and players that make hundreds of thousands (at least) each year wouldn't be hurting for cash after the season.

The owners have a tough task negotiating with these knuckleheads...just end the dang thing already.

Annnnnd the "knuckleheads" have just as tough a task negotiating with the greedy billionaire owners. Neither side is blameless...both want to come out the "winner", and not the "loser". They're ALL knuckleheads...and so are we, the fans, for putting up with it. If we could marshall ourselves, we could send an unmistakable message to the owners AND the players to get this damn thing figured out before the SCHEDULED start of preseason, or else they won't have ANY money coming in.

Who am I kidding, though...us fans could NEVER hold an organized boycott big enough to make the Head Honchos take notice...right?

I think Prophet started a thread on this topic...

No doubt this situation involves all parties including us insatiable fans.

As always, I have faith in humanity that greed will win out over principal.
