Re: Compensatory selections
Under terms of the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement, a team losing more or better compensatory free agents than it acquires in a year is eligible to receive compensatory draft picks.
The number of picks a team receives equals the net loss of compensatory free agents up to a maximum of four. The 32 compensatory choices announced will supplement the 223 choices in the seven rounds of the 2006 NFL Draft (April 29-30). This year, the compensatory picks will be positioned within the third through seventh rounds based on the value of the compensatory free agents lost.

Re: Compensatory selections
Who was the last star player or atleast every day decent player to come from the compensatory picks?
I dont know personally, just curious if there actually were any.. I remember talk last year of that linebacker who was supposed to be the next great thing as said by some people here, I doubt he has done anything or gone anywhere..

They are additional selections added to the end of the round and they start as early as round three in this years draft.
SD, SF, IND, and OAK get comp picks at the end of round three and OAK kicks off round four so they actually get two in a row.
Comp picks are huge!Quest for 31

Re: Compensatory selections
The comp FA policy is such BS...the team lets someone go because they don't want to pay them and they get a reward...screw that!
