Re: Comcast Wins in NFL Network Dispute

So are you guys pissed off at NFLN or the cable provider?
NFLN offers the cable providers their programming - the providers just choose not to accept NFLN's offer.

Now that comcast has won the lawsuit, more cable companies will follow suit and offer it at an additional price.

I'm pissed that they (both parties involved- neither of them have to worry about making ends meet) have the power to jerk around their fans (or viewers) and not have to worry about financial consequences. If you treated your customers that way in any other field (aside from big oil) they would walk.

Everyone has choices, some of them are just not as easy to make as others. LOL!

    Sucks to be you guys.

Try following your team(s) from out of state.

    $200 for NFL games
    $200 for NBA games

    Both my choices! LOL!
I lived in Massachusetts, New York City and Northern VA for 19 years before moving to Minnesota.
While I was in MA (86-90), I was forced to watch a steady diet of the AFC East, with wayyyy too much Joe Namath on color commentary.

In NYC, it's Giants and Jets, Jets and Giants, Giants and Jets, etc. etc.
I used to go down to Mickey Mantle's bar on 59th street (south end of Central Park) to watch the Vikings games (which, since it was a brunch menu, would run $50/visit with tips) before the first sports bar opened up on the Upper West Side in '92 or '93 and I could see all the games for a reasonable price.

In VA, the Redskins are king.
When Joe Gibbs came back, all the local channels carried the press conference live and the Irish pub near my old house was packed with people watching it.
I went to that Irish pub every Sunday to watch the Vikings play and was part of the local football crowd there.

So I know *exactly* what it's like to follow your team from afar.
Now I'm lucky enough to be able to follow them from near.

I'm mostly pissed at the NFL for their arrogance.
I'm mildly pissed at Charter for dropping the network after they were carrying it - but I understand why they are doing it.
IMHO, this is all on the NFL.
