ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the Indianapolis Colts have reached agreement with free agent DT Corey Simon (Eagles) on virtually all the major financial components of a contract, and that an agreement could be officially struck as early as Thursday morning, Sept. 1. Two Colts players told ESPN.com Wednesday night, Aug. 31, that they were apprised by a member of the coaching staff earlier in the evening that the acquisition of Simon is now imminent.
Can you say "no more cap room" boys and girls???
No, seriously, good move for the Colts. Simon and Freeny on the same D line is pretty good...
Re: Colts, Simon agree to terms...
Maybe that helps the Colts get over the Patsies hump!

I hope so, I don't like the Pats.
(I don't like the Colts either, but more than the Patty Wagons  )
Re: Colts, Simon agree to terms...
their D-Line is gonna have more then one threat.
Re: Colts, Simon agree to terms...
As long as he did not go to Green Bay!!
Re: Colts, Simon agree to terms...
wow, eagles getting weaker...nice. good move by the colts but unfortunately i don't think the move gets them any closer to the superbowl... they need more than simon on defense to compete with superpower patriots.

Agreed ... but with all the Pat's loosing everyone this offseason and the Colts not loosing anyone significant, makes it much more interesting .... luv it !!
Re: Colts, Simon agree to terms...
He should help the Colts, but am I mistaken or did this guy have a knee problem a year or two ago?
Re: Colts, Simon agree to terms...
This is a very good move by the Colts, but frankly, I'm very surprised. I did not think they would have any cap room left for someone like him, and since they apparently do have some cap room, I'm surprised that they spent it on Simon.
Even though all you hear about is Manning and Harrison, a lot of their attack is based on Edge. Its the running game that keeps the defence honest and prevents them from doing a good job pressuring the quarterback or covering all the receivers. Since James has only signed a one year deal, and can't see them having any more money left to resign him at the end of the year. I also don't think they have anyone behind him ready to take over.
Re: Colts, Simon agree to terms...
He is one of the most overrated DT's ive heard.. Still a good player though.. He should definitley help thier pathetic D
