Lions | Dead money eating into salary cap
Tue, 8 Apr 2008 23:24:47 -0700
Tom Kowalksi, of MLive.com, reports the Detroit Lions have anywhere from $700,000 to $1.2 million in salary cap space heading into the 2008 NFL Draft. The team has $15.2 million in dead money counting against their cap.
Note to self... its bad when you cut top 10 drafted players

Hey, just go ask Kevoncox. GM's are just figure heads.
Its really the HC who runs things when it comes to player personnel decisions as he points out in the "Some bigwigs need to nail this draft to keep their jobs" thread.
Sorry my friend (Kevon) couldn't resist that one.
He has worked it so that the HC's take the blame for a team that has failed in the draft (and not just with thier first round pick) of late.
At some point they might start looking in his direction for drafting players that don't fit the scheme or weren't talented enough instead of firing the HC all the time.
By the way, lack continuity at the HC position also leads to scheme changes which makes it hard on the scouts to find the right guys.
Can't stress how important it is to have continuity across the board in a organization.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.
