Re: Chrebet retires.
Poor guy, if it wasn't for the concussions, he's still be a decent WR. He was a guy that it was almost impossible to root against. The video of his last concussion last year was disturbing, the glazed, blank stare in his eyes. I wonder if he'll got into commentating, seeing as how his health forced him out of the game. I know I'd rather listen to him than Joe Buck, Tony Siragusa, Shannon Sharpe, Michael Irvin or John Madden.

Well at least he survived Jason Williams shooting at him.

Chrebet retires after 11 years with Jets
NFL.com wire reports
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (June 2, 2006)
"...He inspired me every day," running back Curtis Martin said. "I loved the way he played and how he never backed down from anything. He was an incredible teammate. He was a warrior, and I always felt you'd have to kill him to get the upper hand on him. If every player in the NFL had as much heart and desire as he had, football would be illegal."

New York Jets WR Wayne Chrebet announced his retirement from the NFL Friday, June 2, after playing in 11 NFL seasons. Chrebet retires with the second most pass receptions (580) in Jets' history. "I had great people around me," said Chrebet. "I'm truly thankful that those people were along for the ride with me. From start to finish, the same people have been in my circle. I've picked up some great friends along the way who have been there when I needed them. All in all, I dedicate my whole career to the people who helped me achieve it."
