Re: The Chiefs want to trade QB Tyler Thigpen
I think he is definitely an upgrade over Booty.
And has the game experience that Booty lacks.
He could be a very good developmental QB.
I would like it if we could get TJ out and move Booty to practice squad.

Not sure Thigpen is ready to really be a backup. The cat's good don't get me wrong, but he needs to sit and develop a little more. He couldn't work out of anything that didn't require an ace backfield and atleast three wides (i guess it would be four with Tony G), which was the style of offense he played in college. He definatly shows a lot of promise, but I think he's a few years away from quality starting material. Honestly the chiefs would be foolish to trade the kid, as Cassel is more than likely going to prove that he's nothing more than a one year wonder."Prophet" wrote:

I believe the Chiefs will regret trading him.“What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. It’s the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"

Thigpen is what, #3 on the Cheifs?
I just don't understand the thigpen man-crush, and am gol 'darnit glad some people here don't make the decisions for the VIkings.
Remember the Jason Carter thing, Todd Lowber? Martin Nance?
Man crush not just stating he is underrated. IT does not matter how you start ie. 3rd string, it's how you finish, you should be asking why the man-crush on Matt Cassell.. ???

I have a question for you guys: Name a first-year starting quarterback who accounted for more touchdowns than Super Bowl-winning veteran Ben Roethlisberger or standout rookies Joe Flacco and Matt Ryan last season? Here’s another one: Of all the players who ran the ball at least 50 times last season, who led the NFL in yards per carry?
OK, so the title of this blog makes the answer pretty much a dead giveaway. I think we all know who I’m talking about here (for the record, he averaged 6.2 yards per carry on 62 rushes). But I’m going to say it (read: type it): I like Tyler Thigpen.
