Chargers-Bears: If Ball Hit Wire, It Should Have Been a Do-Over

I was wondering what that rule was....An NFL spokesman e-mailed me the guidelines regarding overhead cameras:
General Rules for overhead/cable camera:
OFFENSE: Camera must be behind the QB.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Camera must be far behind kicker or returner.
If an official rules that a kick hits a cable/wire, the down is replayed...
I saw that happen at a SEC game I was at last year and they just kept playing.

Well that's interesting because in baseball when a pop fly hits the speaker at the Dome they continue to play it as a "live" ball. No re-dos or do-overs.

I thought a punt hit the roof of the stadium (some rigging or speaker) once over ten years ago and the ref blow the whistle, dead ball and the punt was redone.
I think I recall this but I am old and have all kinds of delusions

I didn't see a ball hit the wire either, but if I did, maybe he shouldn't have thrown it in the area of the freakin wire!

I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!

You would think it would be easy enough to prove one way or the other.
Not that it matters now, but it would be nice to know for certain.
