Re: Carson Palmer wants to be traded

I would love to see Carson in purple. I was hoping for this weeks ago but now with this, i think I saw the future!

I think id be a little upset if we dont at least see what cincy wants.

Well, we need a vet, but I am curious as to why Cinci had such a down year...some of which would seem to rest on his shoulders given all the weapons they added in the off season and the resurgence TO had.

Comp % looks decent, sacks weren't too bad, but he did throw 20 INTs and fumble 7 times!!

This one would require some extra homework I'd say...

Orton is still top of my list, but I don't feel we can afford a 2nd...

Young could be had cheap. McNabb should be cheap.

Here's a name that hasn't come up in awhile, Billy Volek. A vet backup who hasn't looked horrible in his limited gametime with TEN and now SD...?

All that means is there's no plans. We have no plans to let Rice walk, but it's a very real possibility

Big difference ... we have only oh so much control over that.

The Bengals completely control Palmer's future. Remember, Plummer told the Bucs he was going to retire and they still did not trade him and let him retire. The Bengals could do the same if they like.

Re: Carson Palmer wants to be traded

At first thought, I was really excited about the possibility of getting Palmer. But then I did some more research. His contract is crazy, and he was already 25 years old when he came into the league. And the odds of him going anywhere except for the Seahawks with Pete Carroll are very slim. And if he goes anywhere but here, add the Bengals to the list of teams that have a better pick than us AND need a QB. I hope he stays in Cincy.

Sorry Rick! Keep up the good work.

Was actually 24 when he came in, was 25 when he took over ... As for the contract ... it is not that horrible because of all the bonus money. You can just cut him and cut the losses if it ends up terrible after a year.

I agree with the Bengals thing though. If he is traded they become much more likely to draft a QB in the first round.

    Do not want.

And they won't trade him. Ocho has wanted a trade for 4 years and he is still there. Palmer is screwed. He will have to retire to get out of there and the Bengals would like that so they do not have to pay him

One of the reasons Chad wasn't moved had to do with the cap hit due with his signing bonus (didn't mean anything this year though) That being said I think he might be getting moved this year with only one year left on his contract and Marvin wanted more say in the personnel before he would comeback as well (might be getting tired of a team full of mugshots or head cases). And who knows what will happen with Palmer if he start acting like Cutler in Denver; Seahawks, 49ers, Vikings, Panthers and Cardinals could get some kind of bidding fenzy going that could get the Bengals interested.
