Just as alcohol can convince you that that fat guy (if you're a girl) is a stud or that skank (if you're a guy) is Jessica Alba, it can also convince you that you're Mario Freaking Andretti.

Not the typical piece of crap car that most start out with, heck I would be happy with a brand new Regal, and I would assume most college students would too.
McFadden's car is pretty sweet too, I wonder how a college kid that plays a full time sport finds the time to get a job to pay for something like that, maybe parents, or maybe something less innocent(recruiters?).
