    Cards cut Edge, 2 others.

    Cards Cut Edgerrin James

As expected, the Arizona Cardinals have released running back Edgerrin James.

James, a ten-year veteran who joined the Cardinals three years ago, began lobbying for his release not long after he was benched for rookie Tim Hightower during the 2008 regular season.
Even after James regained his starting job for the postseason run, he wasn’t regarded as a guy who would remain with the team for the final season of his four-year deal.

    And he still wanted out.

Once the Cardinals picked Ohio State running back Chris “Beanie” Wells in round one, it became obvious that the defending NFC champs would move on.

The transaction frees up $5 million in cap space, which in theory could be used to sign receiver Anquan Boldin to a new contract.

The Cardinals also cut defensive end/linebacker Travis LaBoy and cornerback Rod Hood.

Edge will get poicked up somewhere(NO Not by the Vikes, we don't need him) But I think he mayhave some solid foot ball left in him for a year or 2. Laboy is interesting. If we need back up on the DL then yeah take a look. All depends on what happens with Keneche and his health aand if he is able to come back and then if Edwards(The sack king) is able to stay healthy and away from roids.

I actually would not be surprised to see us interested in Rod Hood for depth purposes.

Edge's career is over. The pats already have an old running back so no one else will want Edge.

    Wow, how Edge has fallen.
He used to be considered one of the best RBs in the league less than six years ago.
Now, I wouldn't take him for free over the new UDFA from Boise State we just picked up.

    Let's get him.

    Just kidding.
You know someone will say it in all seriousness though...

    You know what?
    Great point.
Chiller is a wonderful judge of talent.
I would have done the same thing.
I'd have been like, "A guy not good enough to start in BALTIMORE?
    You want him??"
    Now who's laughing.
I hope we resign CTay, that guy can do it all - block, catch out of the backfield, damn good downfield runner, too.

Good for you admitting it. Most people don't do that.
My thought when the colts released him is that they shouldn't have, but they had to because of the cost. I never had the thought of him coming here at all though.

    Surely you jest.

He is way better than Ian Johnson is now, I can promise you that.
As far as a salary standpoint, it would make no sense to sign him.
He also would not want to be a third stringer on our team, so I see him going some place with weak depth, like maybe KC.
Rock out with your cock out!!!

    Cassel & Edge?

    Me likely.
    He can still play.
