Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin wants to be traded

[b][u][size=13pt]Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin wants to be traded

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin asked to be traded, saying he doesn't feel his situation can be resolved and declaring he has no relationship with coach Ken Whisenhunt.
I would love to grab this kid... he has great ability and is a class act. What you think?

I doubt we have what it would take to get him.
Looking at our roster I just don't see what the Cardinals would want from us.
Our only real trading chip that wouldn't be the end of the world is Chester Taylor and even then I don't like it(not to mention I don't think the Cards would really want him).
I guess maybe we'd give up a first rounder, which I think would be worth less and less with Boldin on the team.

I give it a 3% chance of happening for the Vikes.

    NO!

Not every superstar can be had. We traded a lot of draft picks for Allen and we already have Rice and Berrian. Sure, Boldin is probably better than both of those WRs but you have to manage your resources when it comes to trading draft picks, signing players for big $$$$$ (cap issues) and decided whether or not that position is even a position of need. In either case, the arrow points to no on Boldin every time.

If we sign many more superstar players we will not be able to sign FAs in the future let alone resign our current players when they outplay their contracts (Adrian Peterson?).

He clearly has the skill to be a top 2 on any team in the league, but his cap hit would be huge for us and what the cards will want for him will be a lot.

They wont get more than a 1st and that's stretching it. Teams dont get much for Receivers. Look what the Raiders got for Moss. Wasn't it a 4th or 5th? Sure we got a 1st and Napoleon Harris but Moss is beyond Boldin and it was at his prime. I'm just saying they will want more than they can get for him if they traded him but I don't think they want to. If a team wants to spend a first to get him and than restructure his contract to 7-10 mill a year so be it, but I don't think the Vikes should do that cuz they can't afford it and I don't think our receivers are that bad. Receivers are something you can find in the draft in later rounds IE Colston, Houshmanzadeh, and Rod Smith...I could go on but those are a few on the top of my head.

You can't compare the Boldin to the Moss trade. Moss was considered damaged goods and a trouble maker. The Raiders practically gave him away. The Patriots got an amazing deal.

    The Arizona Republic

FLAGSTAFF - Anquan Boldin stood outside the building on a serene college campus, praised the Cardinals for signing him to a contract extension and called it "a tribute" to what the team was trying to accomplish.

Unfortunately for the Cardinals, that was a different time (three years ago) and a different place (Prescott)....

The way this story keeps going, Boldin is also going to be damaged goods from Arizona since all he has been doing is bad-mouthing the Cards organization...
Not saying its going to happen for the Vikes because I don't think it will, but I'm just saying...
