Cardinals screw up in new coin toss rule
http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/08/21/cardinals-screwed-up-new-coin-toss-rule/
...the Cardinals broke new ground in their second preseason game.
They screwed up the new rule by winning the toss, and then choosing to kick.
That’s not how the rule works.
For the team that wins the toss, there are now two general choices that can be made.
The team that wins the toss can choose to kick or to receive, or the team that wins the toss can choose which end of the field to defend.
If the team that wins the toss chooses which end to defend, the team that lost the toss chooses whether to kick or to receive.
Then, to start the second half, the team that won the toss will choose whether to kick or to receive.
By choosing to kick instead of choosing which end of the field to defend, the Cardinals put the Chiefs in position at the start of the third quarter to choose whether to kick or to receive.
And the Chiefs chose to receive.
So the Chiefs got the ball to start each half of the game.Zeus wrote:
When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

Because we can always say, when things are crappy here, "At least we're not the Cardinals."

I officially have a headache from reading that article and it's a Friday at 10am and I'm stuck at work for another 8 hours.
Thanks!
