MORE THAN TWO YEARS LATER, VINDICATION
We made one of our biggest stirs ever with this blurb from the evening of January 9, 2006:
"A league source tells us that multiple members of the Cincinnati Bengals witnessed a troubling incident as the team prepared to take the field for the second half of Sunday's playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
"Per the source, the last few minutes of intermission were ticking away, when the players were startled by the sight and sound of a helmet slamming against the glass pane of the training room door.
Inside, receiver Chad Johnson and receivers coach Hue Jackson were engaged in an altercation.
At one point, Johnson was seen holding Jackson in a headlock.

My guess would be that over the last 2 years CJ has worn out his welcome and that has led to the frustration that CJ was displaying at the pro bowl.

Re: C.Johnson took swing at Coaches
Wow that is really pathetic
I am not sure if I can even believe that though.....if a player punched the coach, don't you think he would be let go or traded before now?

Thanks Josdin00 for the sig!

Re: C.Johnson took swing at Coaches
I watched the vid and I thought it was interesting that right after he was talking about the CJ incident, the fact that NE cheats was brought up. He said that everyone cheats, its just who gets caught. Not to turn this into another NE cheating thread, but I thought it was interesting he said that

Thanks Josdin00 for the sig!

Re: C.Johnson took swing at Coaches
Landon Fletcher was on "Moving the Chains" today and Shine asked him about it.
He said he didn't want to say anything but you could tell he knew about it.
Very interesting indeed. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

During an appearance earlier this week at the Central Maryland Browns Backers meeting, Cleveland defensive lineman Shaun Smith, a former Bengals backup and member of the 2005 AFC North Division champion Bengals, said that wide receiver Chad Johnson punched head coach Marvin Lewis at halftime of the Bengals' 31-17 wild-card playoff loss to the Steelers Jan. 8, 2006....

Re: C.Johnson took swing at Coaches
True or not, there sure seems to be some smoke around the campfire on this one as alot of the X-Bengals players don't deny it but rather shirk/dodge the questions about it.
Wonder how much Marv can keep it together down there? Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: C.Johnson took swing at Coaches
Chad Johnson regarding the incident;
It was an incident that did happen," Johnson said on ESPN2. "Of course there were no punches thrown or anything of that nature. I would have been released. I would have been cut, you know, right away.
"I was unhappy about the first half, the way we were playing. We were winning at the time, so I was out of place with my frustration, really, about not being able to held with what we were doing offensively. That was it. Coach Lewis … had to restrain me. (Former Bengals wide receivers coach) Hue Jackson had to restrain me. And that was as far as it went."
