Loss may send Mariucci packing

Coach could be fired as early as today after turkey of a performance knocks Lions even further down.

Bob Wojnowski / The Detroit News

DETROIT-- This can't go on, not like this, not any longer. The Lions are lost, listless and leaderless, and something must change, quickly.

Apparently, something will. Coach Steve Mariucci's job is in sudden jeopardy, and there are strong indications within the organization he could be fired soon, as early as today.

How can they say their season is over, when Green Bay, with 1 more loss than Detroit, & their fans, still think they have a shot at the playoffs?

This bodes well for us, going into Detroit in 2 weeks.

I was afraid we were going to lose this game, but the state of their team, may allow us to go in and keep the streak alive.

Bad thing is, the players can do the old "win this one for the coach" thing and really play well. I would be more afraid of the Lions now than before.

yeah, its always scary playing a team that just had something bad happen to them a week before. example: randy moss walked off the field, a media firestorm ensued, we went into green bay and layed the smackdown

sometimes teams just band together after this stuff.

Yeah I heard about that. I wonder who there knew coach will be? I think that they should atleast hold on to him for the rest of the season.

If that were true, we'd be 10-0 right now with everything bad that happened to the team this year!

    Re: Bye Bye Mooch

I don't know if this is true but I would not think they would fire him before the end of the season but if the team really are quitting on him then maybe. Our players never quit on Tice and they have had even more reason to. Would anybody want us to hire this guy if he really is fired?
