Buying into latest myth can get teams burned

Every so often, an apparent new trend pops up in the NFL that gets its legs for some unfounded reason. And it usually involves a concept that teams can get by with inferior players at a certain position.

Re: Buying into latest myth can get teams burned
I still don't think we need to draft CB in the first round.
I would prefer to see the Vikes trade up to get who they want at DE first.BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

My favorite part
Myth No. 2: Don't waste a first-round pick on a running back.
...How do you think the six teams that passed on Adrian Peterson feel about that concept?

Re: Buying into latest myth can get teams burned
Seems like the vikes kinda fell for the first one, going with Brad Johnson was really about managing the game, glad they were ahead of the curve on myth 2.

AD has said every time he touches the football he wants to make those 6 teams feel it

No need to reach for runningbacks, as even later round backs can produce if their in the proper situation.
Memo and Wizzinator were 4th round picks, Chester Taylor was a 6th round pick.
However, if there is a complete back like AD, then by all means take him in the 1st.

Re: Buying into latest myth can get teams burned
YES!!! We didn't get burned last year lol
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Peterson and Lynch shure proved that myth wrong!

What I can't understand is how everybody overlooked Ryan Grant in last year's draft.

Re: Buying into latest myth can get teams burned
or how everybody overlooked tom brady, or kurt warner.
I'll tell you exactly why.
None of them had nice shiny combine stats.
