Building the lines through the draft.
Disclaimer:
i have no idea what I'm talking about.
It makes sense to concentrate on building the lines through the draft and make everything else secondary (meaning defensive secondary).
Why?
1. Lineman have relatively longer NFL careers.
2. After you establish the lines and have some veterans draft for depth.
3. If you have a solid line, the run-of-the-mill players in other positions are servicable.
Some will say that this is already being done by every team, but it is being done with all positions.
I am saying that this is the only way it should be done.
If you have consistenly solid lines you can plug in atheletic asshats to fill the other roles on the team.Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please. Mark Twain

Re: Building the lines through the draft.
Asshat is one of my favorite words.
I really need to use that in my vocabulary more often.
Being able to control the line of scrimmage is certainly the foundation of a successful team.
Look at Denver and the last 5 thousand yard rushers from that team.
Half of them can't break the starting lineup when they move to another team.
