Bucs bring back Michael Clayton for five year deal
http://www.pewterreport.com/articles/view/5206
Is this our plan in full force? Pretend we are interested in
Washington and Clayton thus driving teams out who would otherwise go after Houshmanzadeh.
Minnesota Vikings : Simply the best

Very interesting. Seems to me Seattle is not that great. So this IMO means TJ probably turned them down as well.Clayton turned down more money with Seattle

Re: Bucs bring back Michael Clayton for five year deal
Another very good sign for us ... if they signed Clayton to that deal they must not like their chances of getting Mr. Housh in fold.
Also, while on the topic of Clayton ... does anyone remember how this guy completely exploded out of college and looked like a surefire star for years to come only to disappear? I think he blew out his knee or something and has just lost a significant step? But still he had 1100 yards as a rook and has totaled like 1600 in FOUR years since then.
He is still regarded as one of the best blocking receivers in the league ... but I don't know what happened with him making plays.

Re: Bucs bring back Michael Clayton for five year deal
For the same reason(s) I didn't think we would go after a top flight WR, I would think the same is now true for Tampa......
They have now invested alot into thier passing attack during this offseason making me wonder if they would spend more.
My guess is they could still offer TJWR a butt load of cash if they really wanted to but maybe things could swing our way on this......
IMHO the Vikes could still be the most attractive of the teams he is interested in:
a.
Bryzcheapski is can work a contract to look real good and then at the end of the year you get nothing.....
b.
We have a damn good team that continues to get better and should at least win the division again resulting in a trip to the dance floor.
c.
Other Vets have come to visit and stayed obviously liking what the FO and Coaching staff are selling.
Still worry about the Giants though. Maybe Housh will realize the the Giants QB can't throw in the wind and cold during the last half of the season and will shy away from those yutz's. :
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.
