Bucaneers Unload A lot
Derrick Brooks, Warrick Dunn, Joey Galloway, Ike Hilliard and Cato June. Wow... that's a lot of veteran names.

TAMPA - In a sweeping move designed to give their younger players a chance to play, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wednesday released five veterans including linebacker Derrick Brooks.
Also let go were linebacker Cato June, wide receivers Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard, and running back Warrick Dunn.Any man who afflicts the human race with ideas must be prepared to see them misunderstood. - H.L. Mencken

Re: Bucaneers Unload A lot
Bucs already have lots of cap money, so i guess they want to start over complely with new GM and coach, it seems that they are building from scratch..
I hope we stay away from those guys, Galloway is getting up there and had a bad season last year, i dont know about Hilliard, but i dont think he is better than Wade
The Linebackers will try and find starting jobs elsewhere but its not going to be here.. and i think Dunn is done

I'd consider Cato June for depth or to come in on passing downs if someone is struggling. He's played in the tampa 2 his whole career I believe.

Re: Bucaneers Unload A lot
Only one that would be looking at was June.. But he will start somewhere and we don't need a starter

Re: Bucaneers Unload A lot
They're probably looking to lock away Antonio Bryant, what with previous season's 1-year contract he signed with them, and the big numbers he put up. I was hoping we might be able to poach him if they weren't going to re-sign, but that looks highly unlikely.
We went nuts (in a good way) in FA last year, my guess is that we're going to be very quiet this time around. We'll use our smaller-than-usual cap space to retain some vets and build via draft.NMA -- www.newmodelarmy.org
