Brandon Marshall has been sent to the NFL's version of the principal's office.

Two NFL sources said Marshall, the Broncos' star receiver who had 102 receptions last season, met Friday morning with league commissioner Roger Goodell in New York.

Accompanying Marshall during the 2 1/2-hour meeting were his attorney, Harvey Steinberg, and veteran Broncos receiver Rod Smith, who will announce his retirement this afternoon at the team's headquarters.
