    Re: broke down Bentley

    That sucks...you never want to see a player get hurt...unless it's a Packer! :evil4:

    JUST KIDDING!!!

We never want to wish injury on anyone...plus it makes the victories all the more satisfying if we beat teams when they are at full strength!

I hope that LeCharles can get back to full strength as soon as possible. I really like his style of play.

Man, the Browns just have bad luck... first they draft Tim Couch, then Winslow gets injured two years in a row, and now this. I have no love lost for the Brownies, but it sucks to see a franchise to just have rotten luck like this every year.

I feel real bad for them after seeing what the loss of Birk was for our O-line I hate to see something like this happen to them.

That is really sad news. He didn't get much chance to prove himself with the Browns.

I saw this as one of the best signings in the offseason, at a point I hoped he would come to us to play guard and eventually center.

I bet now the Browns are kicking themselves for trading away Jeff Faine

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

Well they got D'Qwell Jackson in that trade so if he plays well they may not care as much and Faine was hardly a great player anyway.

Well I thought more in the lines of not having a decent backup center to the Bentley

    Re: broke down Bentley

The Cleveland Plain Dealer writes that Bentley is out for the season:

A source close to Browns center LeCharles Bentley said that it appears Bentley has suffered a torn patellar tendon in his left knee and will be lost for the season.

The Browns have not confirmed the injury and Bentley is still at the Cleveland Clinic.

Browns GM Phil Savage will address the media before the 5:30 practice.

Bentley was injured during a team drill in Thursday's morning practice at Berea.

    BENTLEY HAS TORN PATELLA TENDON
    Mike Florio

A league source tells us that it's "99.9 percent certain" that Browns center LeCharles Bentley has a torn patella tendon. He is expected have surgery within 24 hours and most likely will miss the entire 2006 season.

Ordinarily, we'd talk a little bit about the team's other options for replacing Bentley, who signed a big-money deal with the team on the first day of free agency after backing out of a wink-nod arrangement with the Eagles that had been negotiated prior to the "official" launch of the signing period.

We'd also take some time to comment on the possibility that karma might be to blame for the injury.

But, hey, we're on vacation. We'll leave it to whoever reports this story after us (and who doesn't give us credit for it) to deal with those details.
