    LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) Lance Briggs is going to play and not sit. The Chicago Bears Pro Bowl linebacker agreed to a one-year, $7.2 million contract Wednesday as the team's franchise player.

    The Bears did the best they could on this deal - and Briggs got unrestricted free agency after this season (provided he's in on 75% of the Defensive snaps).
