Chargers | Brees turned down six-year contract with team
Sun, 12 Mar 2006 09:38:38 -0800
Harvey Fialkov and Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports free agent QB Drew Brees (Chargers) turned down a six-year, $50 million contract because only $2 million of it was guaranteed, according to a report in the San Diego Union-Tribune. The Chargers only guaranteed $2 million because of the uncertain status of his surgically repaired right shoulder

WTF!!!!
He has to understand the view of his shoulder and trouble it can cause.
This makes me VERY wary of him

Only 2 million guaranteed?! Are you kidding? His shoulder isn't THAT bad. Goodness gracious. I don't blame him for turning that down.

2 million???????????? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! AHAHAHAHAHAH! That has got to be the laugh of the century right there!
Brees is going to command a lot of money for sure though, I don't know if I want that anymore. I wouldn't mind a Daunte for Ramsey/2nd rounder instead. As much as I have stated to sign Brees man....if that injury was more serious then it's made out to be we're SCREWED.
Thanks for the Sig LitlHarsh

Not for 6 years and getting the crap beat out of you every Sunday... Any pro football player that takes a 6 year 50 mil contract with only 2 mil guaranteed other than a K, needs to be evaluated for retardation....... :duh:
