HONOLULU (Feb. 10, 2007) -- New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees dislocated his left elbow in the first quarter of the Pro Bowl.

Brees, who throws right-handed, didn't break any bones.

Brees made the All-Pro team while leading the resurgent Saints to the NFC championship game, but was injured while throwing a fourth-down incompletion on the NFC's second drive at the NFL all-star game. The NFC starter went 2-of-7 for 23 yards in the scoreless first quarter.

Brees, who passed for 4,418 yards and 26 touchdowns this season to earn his second trip to the Pro Bowl, didn't return to the game -- but coach Sean Payton wasn't likely to play his New Orleans star much beyond the opening quarter, anyway.

That's too bad for Brees. I heard he is going to be out for 2 months, oh well I think he'll be alright for next year.

Man, is Brees injury prone or what?

He is lucky this wasn't his throwing arm.

I am thinking that he is lucky he made it through the entire season without an injury.

I think he's just been pretty unlucky the last couple of years. At least both those injuries came in the last game of the season for him.

That was pretty sick looking.. I saw the replays on Sportscenter.. Good thing it was his non throwing arm..

Why couldn't it have happened to some other QB...from a team that I HATE!!!

I don't see this as THAT big of a deal though. 6-8 weeks right? Most guys take the next month off anyway, and mini camps don't start 'til Mid-May. He's got plenty of time to let it heal and get back on his horse for next year.
