either that or they couldn't pass up getting a first rd pick for a guy who prob isn't even a top 20 receiver in the league

How do ya like them apples?!

That was my first reaction too.
I was laughing when they retaliated with their version of the poison pill that was ridiculous, with the clause about playing X # of games in MN.
Like I've said all along, Burleson falls into the 'dime a dozen' category when it comes to WRs.
Branch will be a solid pickup for them, an even better move for the Patriots, that first-rounder will come in handy next season for a team that is on the brink of either faltering or continuing to be competitive.

I was really surprised by this, I thought the biggest loss of the off season was Burly and I was afraid that he would turn into a superstar for the Hawks and that we would regret not offering him a high tender and making it impossible for someone to steal him from us.
That could still happen, but I wonder if it is Jackson and that he hasn't come back from his injuries.

They have a pretty full receiving corps, and who is the odd man out.

    Darell Jackson
    Branch
    Burleson
    Bobby Engram
    DJ Haket

I couldn't find out who they cut to make room on the roster, so if anybody knows could you please post it.

Are they going to run a four receiver set on every play?

So are you going to limit Alexander's touches?

Unless Jackson is out for the year, or he is never going to be the same.
Then I see this as a bad move for a team that is already very deep at wide receiver and it wasn't needed, who is going to be complaining that they are not getting enough balls?

And what is their depth chart, now?
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

    D.J. Hackett
    Willie Ponder

    RWR Darrell Jackson

    Deion Branch

Mann terminated his contract with the practice squad so looks like Ponder may be heading to the squad?

    Re: Branch a Seachicken

Do you think they are going to give up a 1st round pick and pay him 36 million to be 3rd on a depth chart, I don't think so.

Which is really going to piss-off Engram (who was mad when they brought in Burly) and Burlenson both.

No, that's just the chart they had on KFFL.
I'm pretty certain he'll bump Burleson back to a #3 behind Jackson and Branch.

The Seahawks are going all out.

They're doing everything they can to win it all right now, look how many players they've acquired since the end of the 05/06 NFL season.

    Re: Branch a Seachicken

This is a good deal for both teams, but I think the Pats got the better deal. (although they will really miss Branch this season)

Deion Branch is a good WR, but he isn't worth a 1st round pick.

We got Napoleon Harris and a 1st round pick for Randy Moss, which is why I can't believe the Seahawks gave up a 1st rounder for Branch.

Sorry Prophet I thought that was your prediction (you are the prophet) for their depth chart.

    My apologies!

    Re: Branch a Seachicken

They aer definately deep at WR.
I think the jury is still out on Burly.
I think he has what it takes to breakout.
He just needs to do it.
I agree that they really need to look at the OL.
Hutch leaving makes a big difference IMO.
Maybe they do need time to gell though. I think once Branch is ready they will be able to stretch the field.
That should help Alexander and vice-versa.

Not a good thing for purple and gold.
