Re: Branch able to seek trade

Branch is an excellent WR with great hands.
He's smart and knows how to get open.
He's not a "superstar" so to speak but he's a proven and talented WR.
He's better than anyone else we have right now.
We can probably get him somewhat cheap since he's only die to get 1.045M this year.

    A great pick up.

He's never had a 1000 yards or more than 5TD's in a season.
What's so great about him? But to hear watch the posts here, he's the greatest receiver ever.
I'm happy where we are. I don't want to give up a second rounder next year for him.

Re: Branch able to seek trade

This would be a smart trade to pursue. We really lack depth at WR, especially considering how injury prone Marcus Robinson is and also Williamson has been dinged up in his short career, and that is with him getting no where near the playing time he will get this year.

I just think we are looking at a lot of trouble entering the season with the receiving corp we have right now. Injuries are gonna happen and we are gonna be stuck.

If NE isn't asking for a 1st, then we need to go for it. I mean look at our WR's, we are gonna be looking to add a good young WR next offseason anyways, with Taylor and Robinson being older guys. So giving up a 2nd and maybe a later pick or say a D-lineman, would really make more sense then waiting and using that 2nd or our 1st on a WR next offseason. Branch is proven and is a great fit for the WCO.

And yes we do have the money to get Branch, especially if he signs a new deal that would obviously be back loaded.

I think that is more because of NE's system and the way Brady spreads the ball around, and not because Branch isn't good enough for 1000+ yards. He isn't a stud WR, but he is probably better then if we waited and used a 2nd rounder on a young WR in next years draft.

We are currently 1 injury away from being in real trouble at WR IMO.

Hey any new news on K. Rob by the way? i mean did he get a year suspension for sure? whats the latest?
The league can't do anything untill there is a conviction. He has a court date in Washington on Oct. 1st.

I read the entire thread and nobody said anything about him being the best reciever.
A good argument can be made that a recent SB MVP is better than anyone we have now but nobody is saying he's the greatest reciever.
People would just like to see him play for the Vikes.
We have depth accross the board and besides McKinnie, I don't believe too many guys to sign next year so I don't think a 2nd rounder plus maybe even a late rounder is too steep of a price.
I'm fine if we don't make a move for him but I wouldn't mind any move as long as we don't give up a first rounder, something I don't believe our front office would do anyway.

Re: Branch able to seek trade

I'm somewhat conflicted about getting him I don't know what New England wants for him nor if he can be sucessful in a west coast offense. He wants money similiar to what Reggie Wayne got paid
I don't know if he is worth that and will coming in late if we do acquire him help us right away?

I dont think we should trade for him if we have to trade a 1st round pick but if we can get him for something else i would do it in a heartbeat.

i would rather have Jerry Porter i think he is better
