Brad Johnson - Weakest Arm In Camp
http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/football/nfl/cowboys/stories/MYSA080807.07C.CowboysCampReport.en.31f55c2.htmlThe Cowboys winning with quarterback Brad Johnson. Though Johnson provides the team a heady backup, his performance at camp didn't inspire much confidence in his ability to carry the team for an extended period of time. Johnson, who has the weakest arm of the four quarterbacks on the roster, rarely attacked deep. And when he did, his passes often fluttered and failed to reach their intended target.
They didn't have to tell Vikings fans this!

A weak arm is the perfect thing for the cowgirls.

He seems like a very level headed, intelligent player, who has had success in the NFL.
Not sure if that equals coaching success, but more likely than not.
His glory days (if you call them that) are behind him.

Re: Brad Johnson - Weakest Arm In Camp
When we picked BJ up to be Pep's back up, I said at that time, that is why he lost his job in Tampa.
He couldn't make the throws.
That was almost 3 years ago.
Even though he (along with the D) took us on that winning streak 2 seasons ago, his play wasn't that impressive in relation to his physical abilities.

I think he could be a really good QB coach.
And I think that winning the Super Bowl counts as glory days.

When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

Re: Brad Johnson - Weakest Arm In Camp
I saw something on ESPN's Top Plays 2 years ago, so the 05 season, where BJ was at some high school speaking, and at the end of it, threw the ball from one end of the gym through the basketball hoop on the other side. The basket was in it's raised position against the ceiling, so it was probably 40 feet off the ground, and he was probably 100 feet away from it.
That's one hell of a throw if you ask me.
I like Brad Johnson, and alway have. So I don't like this trash being talked about him.
But yeah, he obviously is past his prime.

Re: Brad Johnson - Weakest Arm In Camp
Actually, he has never had what you would say a cannon for an arm.. He has always been a dump pass type of QB.. He has never been known to air it out and score long passing TD's.. Add that with the fact that he is getting up there in age, and this is no surprise at all to me..
I do agree with one statement here.. Johnson would make one hell of a QB coach if he chooses to do that in the future.. Once he makes it known that he is willing to become a QB coach, I am sure many teams will be calling him for his services..

Re: Brad Johnson - Weakest Arm In Camp
I heard from the ball boy's distance relative that while BJ may have the weakest arm in camp, he has a cannon in his pants that will blow the socks off the cheerleaders standing on the sidelines.
You can't make stuff like this up, so it must be true.
The man can do it all.
