PALM BEACH, Fla. - Ray Lewis is entering the final year of his contract, but the Ravens still envision the Pro Bowl linebacker in the team's future.....

Re: Bisciotti wants to sign Lewis to new deal
I don't say this much and mean it, but I despise Ray Lewis.
>
Anyway, now that I have that out in the open, I think this is a mistake.
He is way to old and he isn't as good as he used to be and is seriously a liablility when it comes to staying on the field (as the article states).
Who cares though. Its the Ravens.
;DMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

That's called team loyalty.
Nice to see it from the Ravens, more teams should pay attention.

Seriously though, if he doesn't ask for the world with his contract then yes, I would say loyalty is a good thing, but if he is gonna suck up a huge amount of CAP room vs his anticipated productivity then it is a bad thing.
Truth of the matter, most teams will just let a guy like him go and promote a youngster that has been learning behind a vet like him at a cheaper rate and probably bet more productivity out of them.
Makes better fiscal sense. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.
