    Birk the center of attention

Ex-Viking fitting in with 'blue-collar' Ravens linemen

WESTMINSTER, Md. — Matt Birk signed with the Baltimore Ravens because he liked the work ethic of the offensive line.

Turns out, no one works harder than Birk. During his first two weeks of training camp, Birk has looked more like a rookie trying to make an impression than a six-time Pro Bowler entering his 12th NFL season.

He was a stand-up guy.... yeah his play dropped off significantly for us the past few years, but I don't wish him ill...

I don't want him to have a good game against us, don't get me wrong

Shouldn't be surprised by any positive feedback from Birk in Baltimore.
Even if he'd lost a step, he's still a standout center with incredible knowledge of the game

    Really gonna miss him.
He's been one of my favorites.
Its better to lose the first game than the last one.

Looks like Matt has a extra bounce in his step, learning a new system has refreshed him. Great Viking, All the best Matt.

He's going to get a loud welcome once he steps foot into the dome for the last time... I wish him the best. Once a Viking, always a Viking. His better years are in the past, but I shall not show any hate for the man. Good luck to Birk.

I wish him well, a lot expected him to fail when he was moved in to replace Christie and the OL didn't miss a beat with him. Good player who will always get a good word from me - apart from when we play the Ravens
    ;D
I'm not so sure if his drop off was due to age or the way Chilly wants his OL to block - but thats for another thread.
