If you had watched it Sunday night on the NFL Network you would have not had the ending spoiled. The Vikes won in overtime with nearly an 80 yard pass to Cris Carter
Darn it, that is the perfect way for the vikes to win, I am even wearing my Carter jersey today. Screw you Bill Walsh.
    Wow.

Nothing like making this all about you! ;D
How dare he die and interrupt your replay of a game that occurred 13 years ago...

RIP Bill Walsh, always sad to see one of the old timers pass on

Time spent annoying a Packer fan is never time wasted...

Not just an old timer, but also someone who vastly changed the way the game is played.

oh I know that without a doubt, when the NFL was first shown here it always seemed as if there was a 49ers game on every other week - so I'm fully aware of the influence of Walsh on the game.

    That is bullcrap.
Every football fan in America should be mourning the loss of Bill Walsh.
One of the great offensive minds ever to coach in the game.
The list of coaches he mentored include, George Seifert, Mike Holmgren, Dennis Green, Sam Wyche, Ray Rhodes, and Bruce Coslet.
Tony Dungy was fortunate to have played for him too.
RIP to one of the great ones.

    WOW!

Too bad!! Coach Walsh was considered a genius concerning football and really left his stamp with the way a lot of teams play today.
He also spawned some great coaches, some of them Superbowl Champs.
    R.I.P.

    It all starts up front

    Sometimes you are funny.
    This time you aren't.
Evidently you aren't a student of the game our you a) would have a bit more respect for the legacy he left, as well as b) Knew if your team won or not.

    A sad day indeed.

Thanks for saying something Marrdro. His post made absolutly no sense.
Walsh had a HUGE impact on the way the game is played today. Even with our own Vikings.
There are a few Major sports figures i could care less if the dissapeared off the face of this earth(Barry Bonds, OJ Simpson) But Walsh is not one of them.
I wish his family the best at thsi time of sorrow.

On another note what seems so weird is that he got Lukemia so late in life, I never heard the cause, or is it just one of those things? Its just seems that as far as we have come in medical advances(Hell I can even have a surgury that will help me loose weight) but we can't find a cure for something like this, and many other things.

Leukemia is a form of cancer isn't it?

Bill Walsh has had a bigger impact on the game of football than any 1 individual in the last 25 years.

It is a form of cancer I believe but I thought it was usually something that people battle with most of their life, But every one I have ever met has been younger
