its close between moss/carter and owens/rice
John Taylor and Jerry Rice are a better combo than TO and Rice.

Dwight Clark and Jerry Rice also is probably a better combo than TO and Rice.

TO's value as a receiver in any listing like this should also include what his impact meant to the team.

At least, that's my take on it.

    I agree.
Anytime you single out a group like WRs it's tough to do a meaningful analysis really.
It's too much of a team game.
Was there an RB and O-line doing their job and making it easy on them?
Was there a Cris Carter opening up the field for a Randy Moss?
Were the TEs doing their job?
Was the QB a beneficiary of a good receiving corps or just a good QB?
    Tough call.
All we have to go on is foggy memories and statistics, they tell part of the story, but not all of it.
The only way to answer the question is for it to be more defined.

Best Ever Duo = Carter and Moss (always put the HOF WR first)
I'm not even sure I'd take Carter and Moss over Sammy White and Ahmad Rashad.

So then where would they go on the all time list.

There was a nice unbiased article on sometime in the last year, that was posted on here, and they had the CC/RM duo quite high on the list.
I don't remember see White and Rashad.
It's a feel thing for me.
My memories of the Vikings in the 70s were of Sammy White and Ahmad Rashad
making big plays seemingly every single game, all game long.

It was a less pass-happy game then, so the impact of what they did as receivers, it could be argued, was more meaningful to the overall offense than what WRs are doing today.
It's a murky thing, of course.

    I hear ya there!

I thought the same thing at first.

    Glad you explained yourself.
Like I said, the rules of definition are each posters perspective, non were set.

    1) Cris Carter/ Randy Moss
    2) Torry Holt/ Isaac Bruce
    3) Marvin Harrison/ Reggie Wayne
    4) Jerry Rice/ Tim Brown (they were both pretty old at the time or they'd be in front)
    5) Lynn Swan/ Stallworth
