Re: Bengals' Marvin Lewis: My guys being profiled
if its a blinker i understand no big deal, but look at the crimes drug charges assult multiple convictions, of course your going to get profiled you had 9 players in a year is it ??? get into trouble with not so little things... time to rethink who you put on you team instead of blaming the police

Hey Marvin, instead blaiming the police put a boot up your players butt's and tell them to behave.

Re: Bengals' Marvin Lewis: My guys being profiled
Oh what a bunch of bullshit!
Of course, it isn't the player's fault, is it?
The big bad police are just out to get them.
Give me a break.
I used to pull over people for not using turn signals all the time.
It gave me probable cause to see if they were doing anything else wrong.
I can't begin to tell you how many DUIs I got like that.
And profiling doesn't apply to the majority of the crap the Bengals have been doing.Zeus wrote:

LMAO.
He is already backpedaling...

Idiot."Yesterday, I gave a radio interview and made some comments that did not illustrate the high regard I have for the Cincinnati Police Department," Lewis said.
"I apologize that what I said did not reflect my true feelings."
...
We think that Lewis meant what he said, and that we wouldn't have heard a peep about it if someone in the organization hadn't been reminded that a team that plays for free in a stadium fully funded by the public should not be criticizing the public servants who get paid far less to put their lives and limbs in jeopardy every day.
The end result?
We think that Marvin is now officially on the hot seat, and he could be the former coach of the Bengals by January of 2008.Zeus wrote:

Shouldnt somone make the argument that profiling is an essential part of police work? I feel this thread will not live up to it's potential if someone doesnt say that.
If you promise to be smarter, I will promise to be nicer.

Profiling is an effective form of police work, although it is far from essential.
I recognize that profiling has a pretty impressive success rate, although I think it falls in a morally gray area.Zeus wrote:

Agree, the pansy-ass political correctness gets you nowhere.
If old ladies from ND have a crime ring stealing sweet corn from fields then you profile old ladies from ND that live near sweet corn fields.Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please. Mark Twain

Ok, these Bengals got themselves in this mess.
If they would have conducted themselves like decent human beings during their time in the NFL, the cops would not be watching them.
If I am a cop, and my job is to arrest people breaking the law, I'm gonna go check they guy who I know for a fact has a history of doing so.
It just makes sense.
