This is the third part in a series of eight division-by-division previews featuring my opinion and analysis on each team, plus predictions. The NFC South and NFC West were previewed in our first two installments. Conference Championship, Super Bowl and MVP picks will follow.

Overview: The division was expected to be much tighter until some of the recent bad news out of the Minnesota Vikings' camp. The Bears still have the best defense, an improving offense and maybe even a big-time boost from their return units on special teams. The Vikings, Lions and Packers will all be better but still have some work to do.

CHICAGO BEARS: Clearly, the Bears are the class of the division...

You can't really disagree with him, but i think that we can atleast challenge the Bears this year as they have NO OFFENSE.

The Bears haven't put back-to-back good seasons in.......well.......as long as I can remember.
And I don't see how their offense has improved at all.
They better score more points this season with their defense or they will be the same old Bears.

The Bears are definatley the pride of the NFC North, and they will win the division again this year.

What people don't realize is that the Bears also have a very good offensive line and running game, it's not all about their defense. Obviously their defense wins them most of their football games, but they also have a very good running game.

All they need to do is get some WR's and a consistent QB, and they'll be Superbowl contenders.

Let's just say I'll be VERY suprised if the Bears don't win the NFC North this season.

uh, i hate the bears.
and true that the odds are against them to put back to back stellar seasons together.
the one thing that we have going for us is that all bears fans are still hoping on rex grossman.
that will buy us a few weeks until they put in griese.
with griese at starting qb i have a bad feeling.
he offers more than any qb the bears have right now.
i dont know why their is a question to it, but as long as they play grossman i cant complain.


..........oh and the bears better score two td's a week on defense if their gonna think about taking the nfc title from us!!!!!!!!!

I remember that the Viking's were the favorite to win the NFC North and go to the Superbowl and the writers were way off on those predictions, so I am going to wait and see before I give the North to the Bears.

urlacher is enough for them to win the division.

I don't see them as so good. Yes their defense is solid, but I don't think they'll stop us. Slow us down, sure, but stop us where we can't outscore them..... hmmmm. I'm believe our WR can outrun their secondary.

I have some very interesting insight into this overview......F*CK THE BEARS!!!! who i hate above all other teams (with oakland trailing close) and lets not forget that the bears have the worst offense in the league the only reason that people are choosing them to win the devision is because THEY HAVE THE EASIEST SCHEDULE IN THE NFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
