Bears looking to add Chris Simms?

April 30: The Bears did little to upgrade their quarterback situation over the offseason, which means the mean could be in the market for another solid signal caller to back up Rex Grossman. The Chicago Tribune suggests the preferred choice to be the likely odd man out in the crowded quarterback situation in Tampa Bay, Chris Simms.

No, we should not fear him. But if he signs with the Bears, he should most definitely fear the Vikings. Especially the seven that would be right in front of him.

    Nope.

    a.
Coming off an injury were he missed significant time.
    b.
Coming (if he really is) to a new system.
    c.
Bears have no viable weapons in the passing game and very little with respect to a running game.
    d.
    Look at his stats........ ;D

yeah but the guy has a ton of heart and other intangibles that you can't see there.
I think given time he will still develop into a legit starter in the NFL

What he has in heart, he makes up for in lack of a Spleen.

I am guessing this is precisely why the Bears are looking at him.
It is one less potential injury for Jared Allen to be able to inflict on their starting QB.
If you have Orton or Grossman in there you gotta be thinking about possible ruptured spleen on every pass play against the Vikings.

A few on here have tried to make that arguement for our QB with no luck.
No matter how much heart he has, he still has a pretty low number related to production.

Re: Bears looking to add Chris Simms?

The Bears will be lucky to beat Detroit this year. It doesn't matter much what they do.
I respect Simms for his grit. He has it. But his skill is lacking a little. So it could be an upgrade for the Bears. But so what. It won't matter.

A new participant in the Bears favorite game of "Musical QB's"

Let's see how many starting QB changes they will have this year?
I think at least 3... gotta be less than 15
