FOXSports.com reports the Chicago Bears will face opponents led by a first-year coach in nine of their regular season games during the 2006 season. Their first three opponents and four of their first five will feature a first-year coach. The Bears will end the season with five of their last season games against first-year coaches, including the final two games.

That's great news for the Bears. First year coaches always have to take some time to get their "wheels" under them. I know that several people on her have predicted that the Vikes will lost their first three games of the season just because of that. Chicago should be on a roll on those first five games making it even harder for the Vikes to catch them.

But seriously, going into the season the Bears have to be considered the favorite in our division. They are, like it or not, the reigning champs, and they've had the fewest front office changes of anyone. They still have the players and system to be a dominant defense, and have just enough on offense. They have an excellent coach who is coming into his own, and they're in position to continue their consistency from last year. Luckily for the Vikings, Lions, and Packers, they're still the Bears, and if they didn't learn their lesson from 2001, they're doomed to repeat history. Also, I think a QB controversy could hurt them. I don't know if they'll ever learn that Rex Grossman is not the answer. He could, quite possibly, be the most overrated player in the NFL. He hasn't done much of anything for that team, but he gets handed the team, after Kyle Orton did more than they could have asked or even hoped for last year.542cbf305f333b0554e8ffa937f852d6

The Bears are definately the favorite in our division. I have already heard talks that they are one of the favorites in the NFC. But we all know well that has gone for us before in the past

So the Bears play 9 teams with a new head coach this year.
The Vikes play 8 teams with a new head coach and 1 team who has a coach with 1 year experience.
If thats the criteria for winning the division or having a monster year then we will be right there with the Bears.
