I don't like to compare teams statitics with teams of the past it's unfair. the game has changed so much since the 80s. they are a great defense, nuff said.

    Thanks Josdin

that D looked pretty good against Carolina a few weeks back and I would say that they are NOT overrated.

Overrated? Yes. They're still pretty damn good though, definately the best in the league this year.

    Washington (5-6) Lost 7-9
    Detroit (4-7) Won 38-6
    Cincinnati (8-3) Lost 7-24
    Cleveland (4-7) Lost 10-20
    Minnesota (6-5) Won 28-3
    Baltimore (3-8) Won 10-6
    Detroit (4-7) Won 19-13
    New Orleans (3-8) Won 20-17
    San Francisco (2-9) Won 17-9
    Carolina (8-3) Won 13-3
    Tampa Bay (7-4) Won 13-10

I would have to say they have a very good defense, but not a great one. I'm using strength of schedule to form my opinion.

I was surprised that they held Carolina to only 3 points & beat TB, but they've also given up 24 points to Cinncinati, 17 points to NO (3-8) & 20 to Cleveland (4-7)

Their defense certainly shouldn't be taken lightly. Like Minnesota, their defense is getting stronger as the season progresses.

The Vikings/Bears match up on 1/1/05 will definitly be an exciting defensive match up. It will be a low scoring game offensively.

its tough to count the cincy game against the bears,
the D only yeilded 11 1st downs, cicny had 10 3 and outs, and the bears outgained them yardage wise, its just that they got the ball in great feild position so many times from the 5 ints

    Poor randy

The offense & their 12 INT's is what will be their "Achille's heel" the rest of the year.

You shoul've read the rest of the thread. Compared to the best defense in the history of football, YES, they're overrated.

bears troll, charles tillman is crap. He gets burned every single play and hits like a girl. All ur db's are overrated. Hillenmeyer and Briggs are decent starting linebackers and Brian Urlacher is too weak to take on linemen. good, but definitely overrated. If i had to find one positive thing about ur d, its that ur d line is probably one of the best i have ever seen. Alex Brown is for real, so is tommie harris and ogunleye. Ian Scott, Boone and Tank Johnson are great interior tackles that get a good pass rush.

Without lovie and ron rivera however, the lack of talent in ur secondary and outside linebackers would definitely show. The 4 guys up front save everyones ass on d.
