B-RAD Self proclaimed reason why the vikings win games.
So check out this little snippit I found on the trib today. It seems our old self proclaimed god Brad Johnson believes he was the main reason we won all those games two seasons ago. What a freaking joke this guy is. Like I have said many times before it was our defense that won those game not him.
QB Brad Johnson, speaking to his hometown newspaper in Asheville, N.C., notes he was the starter in 13 of the Vikings’ 15 victories from 2005-06. “They were 2-7 without me starting,†said Johnson, who signed with Dallas in the offseason. “So that kind of tells you where the organization is.†Johnson reiterated what is apparent to many around the franchise. “They are going through a rebuilding process.â€

I think what he means to say is that when he WASN"T in, the team lost. Meaning, we don't have a quarterback.

Yeah our defense won our games not Brad. But he did do alittle something when he came in two seasons ago, but he sucked bad last year.

Not trying to defend Brad but I think we sucked last year because of the play calling and the weak offensive line. I hope those problems are correct this year.

Since he is the one variable that changed between the 2-7 start and the 5-2 finish I would say he has an argument. I think many of that years players would back him.

The comment is kind of stupid just because it seems like he brought it up from sheer bad grapes. Otherwise I find it funny that the same comment is something that us fans were making all of last offseason.

Brad was really a big reason we won those games.
Yes...our defense was much better during that stretch, but Brad threw 12 TDs and 4 INTs as compared to Daunte's 6 TDs and 12 INTs.
That was a big turnaround for our offense. Brad wasn't the only reason, but to count him out completely is ludicrous.

(there might be a realistic team morale argument here, I don't know)
Seriously, I think when you have a QB that doesn't give you the possibility to score you're in trouble.
Brad lost A LOT between 2005 and 2006 based on what I saw, and didn't give us a chance to score points.
The defense was VERY good last year, against the run and the pass (though we could have used more pressure).
The offense had no guys that could move the chains or score points.
That means BJ, the receivers, and Chester Taylor.
Brad's absolutely right that we're rebuilding, but what does that mean in regards to him?
Fact of the matter is that Brad played well for this team before '98 and in 05, but he couldn't help us win now.
I don't really think he'd be able to help any team win now, unless he's a coach.
Sorry, Brad.
Nobody gets to play forever.
Jackson gives us a CHANCE to win, even if he ends up being bad.
So you take the chance and see what happens.
On an unrelated note - here's to feeling good all the time! When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]

Gives me more reason to hate that guy. He should just retire. I've seen enough of him and his 3 yard passes to last me a lifetime.
