Punchless Texans fire offensive coordinator Palmer

The Texans have fired offensive coordinator Chris Palmer and replaced him with offensive line coach Joe Pendry, ESPN's ESPN's Chris Mortensen has learned.

Pendry also will work with QB David Carr. Steve Marshall takes over as offensive line coach. Marshall had been assisting Pendry.

Pendry once worked as offensive coordinator under Dom Capers at Carolina. He was fired from that job.

Maybe we should sign Palmer. If nothing else, to ease the pressure on Loney.

I started another thread yesterday about the radio talkshow after the game (in Houston) was all over the coaches and even the front office for not making the Texans a better team overall this past season.

They tried to improve the O line and pick up a DB in the offseason and both areas are suspect. Boy am I glad we didn't pick up Buchanon.

Hey, is Art Shell, although he is retired, a possibility at coach. He had success with the Raiders, although it was a while ago, then he had a bad year, and fell off the map ever since. I saw him on NFL network the other day as an analyst, I think he'd be a good o-coordinator, anyway.
