Atlanta loses Mathis for the season.

Kevin Mathis after being thrown out of the Monday night before it even started, will not play the rest of the season. He was not a starter, but he is a good CB and was there nickle back.

Falcons' cornerback Kevin Mathis will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL. The 31 year-old defensive back will be scheduled for surgery and will be placed on the injured reserve list. "You hate to lose a player like Kevin because he brings so much to the team on the field and in the locker room," head coach Jim Mora told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Mathis logged 65 tackles and two interceptions in 15 games last season.

No, he did it in practice Tuesday.

Wait a minute. I read that he was out for one game only. not the whole season.

He got thrown out of the Monday night game! But he got injured in practice, tore an ACL and will need surgery. At 31 it might be the end of his career.
