Archuleta soon to be a BEAR

Looks like Adam Archuleta will soon be a Chicago Bear.
He had a dissapointing season last year but had some good ones with the Rams playing under Lovie Smith.
This could make a pretty darn good bears secondary even better.
He is also good in run support if I remember right from his Rams days.

This is not a sure thing yet however.

Who Could Leave?

The Redskins have 11 unrestricted free agents but only linebacker Warrick Holdman was a starter. Holdman was often overmatched last season and will likely be replaced by 2006 second-round pick Rocky McIntosh. Running back T.J. Duckett was acquired last August for a third-round pick and then spent the season buried on the depth chart. Duckett's a free agent and wants to be a starter. With Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts firmly entrenched in Washington, Duckett won't be back. Neither will oft-injured kicker John Hall, who is still under contract but seldom healthy.

In an effort to create cap room or to just cut dead weight, Washington could choose to release David Patten, Brandon Lloyd, Adam Archuleta, and maybe even Mark Brunell. Archuleta is possibly the biggest free-agent signing-turned-bust during the Gibbs regime. and the team would eagerly listen to any trade offers.

He couldn't even crack the starting lineup of the 32nd-ranked defense in the NFL last year.
How again is he a stud?
(And quoting his combine stats is kinda silly for a 6-year veteran).

The trade is now official.
The Bears will pay him $8.1 mil over 3 years.

I wonder how he will do with his old coach and the best defense he is played on.

he is a beast at working out though. i have watched his vedeo he put out for weight lifting. that guy is unbelievably strong!

Archuleta had a terrible 2006 in D.C. but Smith will know how to best use his skills in the box and in coverage. Archuleta will likely replace Todd Johnson as Chicago's third safety or could make Mike Brown expendable.

I'd take Mike Brown in a heartbeat.
