    Anyone want the first Moss TD ball? Or is it?

    Ok if its real and they are friends of Moss, why wouldn't Moss back em up?

    Moss' friends selling what they say is first NFL touchdown ball

    Associated Press

    RAND, W.Va. - Two brothers who are childhood friends of Randy Moss are trying to sell a football they say he caught for his first NFL touchdown, but Moss' agent says potential buyers should beware.

    Dante Ford said he and his brother Eric want "at least six figures" for the football, which they claim is the one Moss caught during the Minnesota Vikings' 31-7 win over Tampa Bay on Sept. 6, 1998 at the Metrodome in Minneapolis.

    Eric Ford said Moss gave him the football during one of the brothers' visits to Moss' home in Minnesota when he played for the Vikings. Moss now plays for the Oakland Raiders.

    "He scored a touchdown during the game that day," Eric said, "and I said, 'Randy, let me get that ball from you.' He said, 'Nah, I got another one for you.' When we went to his house that day, he handed this one to me."

    Re: Anyone want the first Moss TD ball? Or is it?

    They said in the article that Moss wasn't sure if the ball they gave him was actually his 1st NFL TD ball or not. I would think the ball would have been at least marked somehow.

    Even still any game ball of Moss's would be worth something, but not 10G's. Also, whose to say that they aren't keeping the ball Moss gave them & are just selling an authentic used ball. You can buy authentic used balls used by the Vikings in practice at the Mega Mall in the Minnesota Vikings store out of a box of balls.

    Re: Anyone want the first Moss TD ball? Or is it?

    After I posted I went & searched eBay for the ball in question. It is not Moss's 1st TD ball & it's not even a game ball. It's more of a commerative panel ball made in the honor of his 1st NFL TD catch. Whether it's one of a kind or not isn't relative to me. It's not the actual ball he caught during the game. To me it isn't worth much.

    And the geniuses wanted $10,000 for this ball? :duh:

    Here's the picture from the auction on eBay;

    The article says he wants at least 6 figures for the ball. That would be at least 100,000 dollars. Good luck, they will need it!

    I stand corrected. Thanx for pointing that out. Are those your balls shown there in the showcase?
