You know what I do remember that game, I actually managed to listen to it live here in the U.K on U.S forces radio. They were 17- 10 down with under a minute to go when that play was made.
Despite that game, 1998 and the Giants Debacle
I still believe our time will come, and when it does it will taste even sweeter.

56 Seconds . . . but the real kicker is it was 4th down and the gutsy Vikes went for it all.

Interestingly we were a wildcard team at 8-7.
All the other NFC teams had records of 11-4 or better!

I remember it vividly.
Painful, yes.
But what a playoff run we had, crushing the heavily favored Saints and 49ers on the road.
I mean we just beat the hell out of those teams.
Anthony Carter running wild, returning punts for touchdowns and our defense gelled at just the right time.
I think the next year we were picked to win it all (bad karma of course).
Not long after that came the infamous trade for Hershel where we basically gave the Cowboys the drafts picks they needed to win 3 Super Bowls in the 90's.

1998? 1987? The one that keeps hitting ESPN's highlight reels is 1975. The 'Hail Mary'. I see that replayed every year, but remember it without video. I don't think it was the Championship game in name, but it was in substance. 1998 comes closest to my heart's agony, but 1975 has scarred me for life.
