Anderson and Browns at a standstill
http://beta.profootballtalk.com/2008/02/07/browns-anderson-at-a-standstill/
James Walker of the Columbus Dispatch reports that contract negotiations between the Cleveland Browns and quarterback Derek Anderson “have reached a standstill.â€Â
Walker also reports that the three-year offer made by the Browns last month had a total value of $16 million, including $11 million in guaranteed money.
Anderson’s people rejected the offer, and are seeking a deal of at least five years in duration.

Re: Anderson and Browns at a standstill
With their new poster boy in town it's hard to imagine them offering a 5 year deal worth anything substantial.

He's still under contract though.
Our guess?
The Browns will be happy to keep him for another year at $2.5 million, or to trade him for a first-round pick.
If he goes, 2007 first-rounder Brady Quinn would take over at quarterback.

Re: Anderson and Browns at a standstill
I can still get my hopes up if I want to.
Of course this is all posturing on both parties parts and he will stay a Brown for at least another year.
They will be able to see what Brady does this year in Training Camp/OTA's and then make a decision for the 2009 season. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.
