Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports attorneys for Green Bay Packers RB Ahman Green have been offered a plea agreement, but there could be ramifications that could affect Green's football career if he accepted it. Green missed practice Monday, Aug. 29, to prepare for a trial, tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 31, in which a jury will decide if he is guilty of a misdemeanor disorderly conduct / domestic abuse charge. Green's attorneys said he would be absent from a good portion of the team's activities this week and could possibly miss the team's preseason finale at Tennessee Thursday night, Sept. 1, if the trial lasted longer than expected. If convicted, he faces a $1,000 fine or maximum 90 days in jail or both. Unless Green is cleared of all charges, he faces possible punishment by NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue under the league's personal conduct policy. Brown County District Attorney John P. Zakowski confirmed a plea offer had been made to Green and was aware that it could result in the NFL punishing Green if he accepted it, but he said the charges were in line with other domestic disputes he has handled. He said he had no intention of dropping the charges.

Ahhh....yes! The Packer demise is growing stronger! I can't wait til we play them. Even though Green will probably be back by them. Hopefully he gets a suspension that will throw off his concentration on holding the ball (you know since he does such a great job on it now!)

Would it be a four game suspension, he has had convictions before for domestic abuse. Can the league impose a longer suspension?

WOW!!! How much money will that cost him....WOW a guilty plea is probaly going to cost him about 100K. OUcH!!!! plus the divorce OUCH!
