    I like Shiancoe.

Gonzalez is a very short term guy.
Why do you like Shank? He can block but his big play ability is minimal. Tony is a threat on every play.

Even though he would be a great solution for the short term, even if the window is small for us, I'm not totally sure I'd want this, we know that the Chiefs would ask a lot for him, and I wouldn't want to give up a ton for a guy who won't be around for long.
In Kansas City, he was asked to be the main guy in the passing game up until the emergence of Dwayne Bowe. He won't have to be the main guy here, nor will we expect 100+ catches like he put up in KC. For this, he'll probably be able to play 3, if not 4 more years.

Think about what he'll do for our passing game. Teams don't respect Shiancoe. They'll do the bare minimum to cover him, and if they give up 1 big play to him all game, they figure 'oh well.' Teams will have to respect Gonzalez's speed, route running, and play-making abilities in the red zone and on 3rd downs. It'll open up the passing game and give more opportunities for Berrian and Rice to be in single coverage with the safety keeping an eye out for Gonzalez.

In addition, it'll help out our already strong running game. 8 in the box? Send Tony over the middle. Safeties playing deeper to respect Tony G? Run it with AD. People were already giving up on Shank and calling for Garrette Mills.

If the asking price is, let's say, a 4th rounder, I would say pull the trigger. Or maybe a pick based on his performance. It's worth a shot IMO.
Like I said, I wasn't sure about it, for me, it would basically come down to what we would have to give up for him, I'd do it for a fourth rounder, I think the Chiefs asking price would be more...but I'm not totally sure about that, I'm not too knowledgeable about trade value/value of draft picks to be honest.

BS, get the point, but WAY overdone.

Shianc can't hold Gonzalez' jock strap, nor TJ McNabb's.

This would be an absolute no brainer for the right price.
Not sure what the right price is, but, pretty sure TJack, nor, short-term Gus is what Gonzo would be looking for.
LOL, I am not even sure what he is getting at.

Do we even have the cap space? I highly doubt we bring in an aging Vet like Gonzalez in the middle of the season. That's a move that screams Tice to me and not Childress. Childress has this thing where he likes "his guys" who know his system. Although, it seems that lately Zygi and Spielman are having the final say in trades and personnel decisions.

Although, bringing in Gonzalez and giving him a semi long-term deal could either save Chilly's job or make the idea of coming to Minnesota more appealing to head coaching candidates.

The only question I have is can he come in and learn the playbook quick enough to become effective. He would also need to get in sync with Gus quickly. Not sure if this organization would do that. I say go for it.

Who had the "Make it so" thing when there were Allen trade rumors? Toss that in here. For the right price I would definitely like this.
    WE CAN BUILD ON THIS!!!

    In AP I trust

While TG may not be in the prime of his career, he most certainly isn't in the tail-end, either. Even if he was in the tail-end, I'd still prefer him to Shank.

    [year/team/gp/rec/yds/avg/long/TD/first downs]

    2003 Kansas City Chiefs 16 71 916 12.9 67 10 48
    2004 Kansas City Chiefs 16 102 1258 12.3 32 7 69
    2005 Kansas City Chiefs 16 78 905 11.6 39 2 45
    2006 Kansas City Chiefs 15 73 900 12.3 57 5 54
    2007 Kansas City Chiefs 16 99 1172 11.8 31 5 59

The man is still producing at a high level despite playing with crappy to mediocre-at-best QB's to the tune of Green, Huard, Croyle, and Thigpen. Everyone knows that he catches a lot of balls, but the numbers that impress me the most are in the first column, games played; and last column, first downs. those numbers alone prove that he is still both durable AND reliable.

A 40 year old Gonzo would be better than Shank in his prime..

If the price is right. Which it most likely isn't.
