    Might be that the time off could do him some good. And I really can't fault the guy for wanting to observe the tenets of his faith. I wish him well, and hope he finds what he's looking for..

    He does the fast every year during Ramadan (they had an ESPN segment on it last year) but I don't think he does the Hajj every year.

    No he doesn't. He fasts during training camp (stupid idea), but he doesn't go on religious pilgrimages every year, calling it quits to football.

    How he managed to fast and still perform at a high level was staggering, I gave him props for that.

    Based on his first year as a part tinge starter, I agree, but he was nothing better than awful last year. Imagine if he ate, drank, fueled his body and minds during one of the most demanding parts of the season.
