They are moving down the road I guess.
They are also saying the team will still be names the San Fransisco 49ers.

The plan to build a stadium also included public housing...

49ers | Team planning to move away from San Francisco
Thu, 9 Nov 2006 00:35:30 -0800
ESPN.com reports the San Francisco 49ers have ended negotiations with the city of San Francisco about building a new stadium. The team plans to move to either Santa Clara or somewhere else in California, according to reports. 49ers owner John York notified Mayor Gavin Newsom of the team's decision earlier Wednesday, Nov. 8. Newsom's spokesman Peter Ragone told the San Francisco Chronicle, "We're disappointed, but we're not planning on mortgaging the future for a deal." York was evasive with the Chronicle tried to reach him, but he told the paper he would elaborate on the team's future plans Thursday, Nov. 9.

Re: 49ers set to leave San Francisco...
Unfortunately, I went to the game last Sunday.
Candlestick Park is a DUMP!
It is by far the worst stadium I have ever been to.
The Stadium is in disrepair, the parking is horrible, and the freeway access is terrible as well.
That stadium needs to be bulldozed.
Personally, I would like to see that team go to Los Angeles so I wont have to keep hearing about the Vikes going to SoCal.
The thought of SoCal Hoodlums "taking over" my team would piss me off!...ie, RaiDuh Nation!I'd much rather see the Packers miss the playoffs because of their talent then because of their injuries.

Looks like this will take the Vikings off the list to move to LA.

Great news.
Hopefully, now everyone will stop talking about the Vikings moving. The best part of my day is when I get down on my knees, with my head in my hands, and thank GOD for everything he has given me.
