We've finally started winning some games, and last week, despite not winning, we still showed signs of improvement, especially on offense.
canning Childress now would destroy everything.
Once week 17 is done, thats another story.
Improvement my arse. We made another mediocre QB look like a superstar. Same thing we've been doing for last three years.

    Fire Childress and get Nolan.
And the defensive coordinator who attributed as much to the mediocre QB looking like a superstar.

As for Nolan, not sure why you are all flocking towards this cat.
What (other than a suite) qualifies him to do a better job in MN?

    a.
    Was it his 18-37 record?
    b.
Was it his inability to groom a young QB?
    c.
Was it because he tried to be both Coach and GM and failed and now thier VP of Player Personnel is now GM?

Comeon guys, I'm onboard with the program with respect to getting a new HC but this cat is the same cat we are getting rid of.

Well, since I firmly believe that a monkey in a headset would do a better job than Childress, getting Nolan really does not sound bad at all.
I will agree with you on that but I don't want to go down that path again.
Lets wait until the season ends and see what is out there in the way of coaches and make a sound decision based on our players, our scheme, our CAP, our upcoming schedule for that year, what players are gonna be available etc ect ect.

Going out and snatching up whatever is out there right now is not a good answer and would just compound the problem.
I don't wont to see a coaching change at this point. I belive we are too far along to switch now. However getting Nolan is just a joke.

ok, whens the last time we put up 41 points on offense?
    thats an improvement.
Defense shit the bed last game, but thats more on the DC, Chilly doesn't call the defensive plays.
Changing HC at this point is just a recipe for a 5-11 record.

I agree, now is not the time.

However, I don't understand why we would replace Chilly with Nolan. Sure the guy wears a suit but he has done absolutely NOTHING for that team. He NEEDED to be replaced. He totally mis-handled the Alex Smith situation and made things uncomfortable in the locker room.

But really, bad news for us. I know we don't play them this year, but if Mike keeps the job (which he should) they will be a huge contender for years to come... well once they get a quarterback
    We're bringing purple back.

It's about time Singletary got a HC job.
SF should sign him long term right now.

f that whole getting better stuff on offense.
we played a banged up bears defense and we obviously have enough talent to exploit that.
but the way our coaching staff is set up, a firing wouldnt make any sense.
in both the st louis and san fran situations they were able to turn to their defensive cooridinators cuz they had a veteran offensive play caller still on the staff.
if you fire childress, bevell is probably gone also so who would take over the offense?
nobody i can think of, and you are definitely not bringing a guy in, so it would make no sense unless we literally gave up on the year and just dumped childress.
and if that was the case you would probably either have to keep bevell, or promote our qb coach to call the offense.
either way too much upheaval unless the season is sure to be over.

Although Schefter just suggested that they might try for Pete Carroll after this season...then again, Schefter says a lot of things.

Singletary has never been a head coach, and now he's the second coming of Bill Walsh?

I'm not saying he will never be a good coach but... bad news for us? since they aren't in our division,
how is this really bad news for us? ...the Vikings have enough contenders to worry about in our own division,
without having to worry about other divisions.

You need to get a grip.
