    Wow.

    It’s done.

The Lions have agreed to terms with quarterback Matthew Stafford.

According to Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com, Stafford’s deal is worth $78 million over six years, with $41.7 million guaranteed.

    Wow.

    UPDATE:
Peter King of SI.com has the base at $72 million, with a maximum value of $78 million based on incentives.
Chris Mortensen of ESPN says the max is $74 million.
All have the guarantee at $41.7 million.

They better hope he's worth it

    Those numbers are just unbelievable...WOW.

What are the chances of this guy starting right away? How long can you possibly let a guy sit back and learn when you're paying him $13million per season?
    Skol Vikings! Go Cubs!

I'm sure that Daunte will be happy to teach him everything he knows about fumbling, failing to read defenses and tossing up jump balls that you hope your WRs can catch.

    Oh - and the roll.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

    Holy cow.....

Do teams with the #1 pick feel the need to screw themselves over?
I cannot believe the money tied into this kid....he better pan out.

    History tells us otherwise.....

Harrington with the 3rd....Stafford with the 1st....and lots of #1 receivers in the middle

Give this guy a line and he will find CJ. So when do we get a QB?

I'm not so sure he will be a bust.
If the Lions FO can act like a FO for once, and draft wisely this year, I see them as a dangerous team in a couple of years (for once).

Again, it all gets back to what will the FO do in this draft as it will be the framework for what they will try to get done over the next 3 or 4 years as they rebuild this team.

Course, there will be alot of yutz fans who will want instant success and won't have any patience.
    ;D
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

Waaaay too much cash for a kid who hasn't even played a down in the NFL.
There has got to be a rule change in this area.
Who the hell wants to have a top 3 pick when you end up mortgaging a teams future on a fucking coin flip?!?
It's gotten totally out of control!
